Sonic Solutions’ Sales of DVDit! Reach 25,000 Unit Mark

Sales of Leading DVD Publishing Solution Continue to Soar

Las Vegas, Nevada (April 11, 2000) – Sonic Solutions announced today that sales of DVDit!, the easiest way to publish on DVD, have topped the 25,000 unit mark. Coming less than three months after the sale of the 10,000th copy of DVDit!, the increase in sales demonstrates the keen interest the market has shown for an affordable, simple-to-use authoring solution and the unprecedented support for the DVD format.

"We are extremely pleased with the astounding success of DVDit!," said James Manning, DVDit! Product Marketing Manager at Sonic Solutions. "With the exploding market for DVD set-top players and DVD-equipped personal computers, we’re now seeing interest far beyond the core groups of video production professionals who originally fueled the medium’s growth. DVD authoring is now moving into the office and the home and wherever there is a camcorder."

Sonic DVDit! gives both video professionals and enthusiasts the power to create stunning interactive DVD content from virtually any video and audio file on their PC. With the ability to simply drag-and-drop video and audio content into the DVDit! application, design interactive menus and record the final content to DVD-RAM, DVD-R or CD-R/RW, Sonic DVDit! is being used by video producers worldwide to publish high-quality DVD versions of client presentations, merchandising and promotional materials, advertising comps, interactive training materials, multimedia presentations and even special events and weddings.

"Less than ten minutes after I had opened the DVDit! box, I was already authoring my own DVD," said Dan Albert, President of AVCOM Video, a Florida-based video production company. "Sonic DVDit! is phenomenally easy to use, works with all of my video formats, and lets me make better projects in less time. I’m especially impressed with the new cDVD™ format that DVDit! supports. With cDVD, I can produce DVD projects with my CD-R recorder, and I don’t have to wait until the prices of DVD-R recorders become more affordable. I’m able to produce titles with exceptional quality that we can use on our laptop computers in client presentations."

Sonic DVDit! is available as both a stand-alone product for $499 or bundled with third-party hardware and software from Avid, DV Studios, FutureTel, InnovaCom, Margi Systems, Matrox, Media 100, NEC , Sigma Designs and Sony.

Please note that DVDit! is sold in multiple versions and through various channels, including OEM bundles.
