Sonic Solutions and Terran Interactive Partner in DVD Publishing Technology

Terran to Integrate Sonic DVD Publishing Technology with Media Cleaner Pro™

Las Vegas, Nevada (April 10, 2000) – Sonic Solutions (NASDAQ: SNIC) and Terran Interactive, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Media 100 Inc. (NASDAQ: MDEA) today announced at the National Association of Broadcasters Convention (NAB) a strategic partnership agreement under which Terran Interactive will integrate Sonic’s AuthorScript™ technology directly into Media Cleaner Pro, enabling users to publish video content directly to DVD from the Media Cleaner Pro application. Incorporating the same award-winning DVD formatting technology used in Sonic’s DVD authoring applications, Sonic AuthorScript will allow Media Cleaner Pro users to convert a wide range of video formats into DVD-Video files for playback on set-top DVD-Video players or DVD-equipped PCs.

"DVD is the fastest growing consumer electronics format in history," said Dana Lo Piccolo-Giles, General Manager of Terran Interactive. "Working with Sonic, the industry leader in DVD publishing solutions, we plan to empower our users to directly publish video content for DVD within Media Cleaner Pro."

Sonic AuthorScript is the core DVD formatting engine that Sonic uses in its high-end DVD Creator and DVD Fusion for Macintosh authoring systems, as well as in Sonic DVDit!, the leading Windows-based DVD publishing application. Sonic AuthorScript runs on both the Windows and Macintosh platforms. The award-winning Media Cleaner Pro is the only cross-platform streaming media application that supports nearly every major video and audio format including QuickTime 4, RealG2, Windows Media Technologies, MPEG, AVI, MP3 and many others.

"Terran Interactive has powered the streaming video revolution, and their Media Cleaner Pro has become an industry standard for streaming media," said Mark Ely, Director of Product Marketing for Sonic Solutions. "By adding AuthorScript to Media Cleaner Pro, Terran Interactive will be able to offer their users a new world of high-quality, high-bandwidth digital video publishing on DVD. This will give Media Cleaner Pro users a simple Print-To-DVD function within the same award-winning application."
