Sonic Solutions Sales of DVDit!™ Top The 150,000 Unit Mark

DVDit! Sales Continue Dramatic Growth with Newly-shipping Version 2.1

Amsterdam, The Netherlands (September 8, 2000) - Sonic Solutions (NASDAQ: SNIC) announced at the International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) today that it has now sold more than 150,000 copies of DVDit!. Coming only a few months after the sale of the 75,000th copy of DVDit!, the continued increase in sales demonstrates the market's demand for an affordable, simple-to-use solution for publishing video in the DVD-Video format and further establishes Sonic's role as the leading provider of DVD authoring systems.

"With DVDit! Version 2.1 and the new Professional Edition (DVDit! PE) now shipping, users have access to professional-level DVD authoring on their desktop," said James Manning, DVDit! Product Marketing Manager at Sonic. "And because DVDit! now includes Sonic's cDVD(tm) technology, anyone with a personal computer and a CD recorder can make discs with DVD quality."

Sonic DVDit! gives anyone who works with digital video the power to create stunning interactive DVD content on their PC. Users simply drag-and-drop video and audio into DVDit!, design interactive menus and record the final content to DVD-RAM, DVD-R or CD-R/RW. Sonic DVDit! is used by video producers, videographers and enthusiasts worldwide to publish high-quality DVD versions of client presentations, merchandising and promotional materials, advertising comps, interactive training materials, multimedia presentations, special events and weddings.

The new DVDit! Version 2.1 includes significant features to both simplify DVD authoring and produce a better final result. These include:

  • cDVD™ - DVDit! can output DVD-format video directly to CD-R.
  • Instant chapter-point buttons - You can instantly create a menu button link to any chapter point by simply dragging the chapter point onto the menu editor. The button created uses the video clip from the frame where the chapter point is located.
  • Smart End-Action Defaults - Every video and multimedia asset added automatically establishes appropriate end-action settings.
