DVD-Audio Creator is a suite of applications that allows you to import a variety of media elements – audio files, VIDEO_TS, menus, stills – and then author and format them into a DVD-Audio or hybrid DVD-Audio/DVD-Video title.
DVD-Audio Creator is comprised of the following applications:

  • Import Audio
  • Import VIDEO_TS
  • Import Menu
  • Author
  • Command Editor
  • Format
  • Imager

Workflow
For a hybrid DVD-Audio/DVD-Video title, Sonic recommends the following workflow using the software and hardware included in the DVD-Audio Workgroup (HD-2020):

SonicStudio™ HD
Prepare multi-channel and stereo audio in SonicStudio HD EDLs. Export the EDLs in SonicStudio 5.4 format.

LAN Copy the resultant audio files to the Windows PC, either via a direct 100 BaseT network connection or by using the FTP transfer function in Imager.

DVD-Audio Creator Author the AUDIO_TS using DVD-Audio Creator.

DVD Creator transcoder
Use Sonic's software transcoder to quickly and easily convert your SonicStudio HD EDLs to any coding mode supported by Dolby Digital.

DVD Creator™, DVD Fusion™ for Macintosh or Sonic Scenarist™
Author the VIDEO_TS, ensuring legality for inclusion in a DVD-Audio title. If necessary, copy the VIDEO_TS and any ROM information to the Windows PC.

DVD-Audio Creator
Reference the VIDEO_TS and ROM information from within DVD-Audio Creator, using the Import VIDEO_TS application.

Multiplex all data using Format and Imager to create a disc image

CrossWriter
Burn the disc image to DVD-R for QC in a Universal DVD player, using the CrossWriter application that ships with the Pioneer S-201 DVD-R burner.

DVD-Audio Creator
Once QC is complete, copy the disc image to DLT for replication, using Imager.
