efficient QC.

- Comprehensive Blu-ray Disc Support - Create AVC primary and secondary (Picture-in-picture) video elementary streams, menu backgrounds, and
slideshow still images with guaranteed 100% compliance for Blu-ray Disc.
- Flexible Multi-pass Encoding - The Sony AVC Encoder offers both fast and efficient single-pass encoding as well as powerful and optimized two-pass
encoding. In the first pass of a two-pass encode content is analyzed and suitable bit rates are automatically allocated. Bit assignments can be optionally adjusted, and
then the second (encoding) pass is performed.
- Automatic Scene Change Detection - Scene change points are detected and are assigned to the I-frames of the GOP structure for effective
optimization of the video quality.
- Segment Re-encoding - Selected segments where picture quality adjustment is necessary can be encoded again with customized bit rate assignment as
well as adjustments to a range of other important parameters.
- Automatic Customization Function - Values are measured during the first pass of encoding and can automatically generate several candidates for bit
rate allocation.
- Decoder Application - The decoder application is a separate program that provides for real-time decoded playback including step-frame for use
during QC.
- Inverse 2:3 Pull-down Processing - The Sony AVC Encoder effectively deals with 29.97fps telecine source material by efficiently recognizing the 2:3
pattern and generating BD-ROM compliant streams and can be manually edited during customization.
